Privacy & Data Handling
Last Updated: August 2026
Browser-First Processing
Tools that are implemented locally keep file bytes on your device.
No File Retention
The current browser-only tools do not upload or retain your files.
No Content Analytics
Product telemetry is designed around operation metadata, never document contents.
1. Browser Processing
Our browser-processing tools use web platform APIs and local processing engines. For those tools, the input file remains in the browser and is not uploaded to Bitmorfy for conversion. The processing model shown on each tool page is the authoritative description of that tool's current execution path.
2. Future Server Processing
Some advanced conversions, such as high-fidelity document transformations, may eventually require isolated server workers. Such a tool will have a different processing model and privacy notice. Files sent to a server-processing tool would be handled as temporary processing data, protected by resource limits and automatic cleanup. We will not describe a server-processing tool as zero-upload or browser-only.
3. Information We Do Not Need
- Core conversion tools do not require an account.
- We do not need document text or image pixels for product analytics.
- We do not intentionally collect filenames or local filesystem paths as telemetry.
- Uploaded file contents are not a product analytics dataset.
4. Product Analytics & Operational Telemetry
We collect privacy-minimized information about how the service operates and which tools are useful. Examples include tool usage, conversion success/failure, duration, coarse file-size buckets, device class, and technical error categories. Operational logs, security events, and administrative audit records are separate from product analytics.
We do not need uploaded bytes, document contents, image pixels, or filenames to understand converter demand and reliability.
5. Advertising
The service may use Google AdSense and other required advertising technologies to fund free access. Third-party advertising providers may process information according to their own policies and applicable consent requirements. Advertising must remain visually distinct from converter controls and must not interfere with the core workflow.
6. Data Minimization
Our engineering rule is to collect the minimum metadata required for reliability, security, product analysis, and business decisions. Retention and access policies are defined separately for product analytics, operational logs, security telemetry, and audit records.
